As well as the competition the social side of things was really great and I had a real good time with my dad too! I was disappointed that the doubles event had to be cancelled as I was pretty mad at the judges after the singles, who were giving, in my opinion, too many points for the high stuff. And even though I landed the very first Moby Dick 5 in a competition it wasn't enough for me to get the third place! <br/><br/>I had a similar issue with in Venezuela, but as they say, the judges decision is final! And because of the poor conditions on the final day when we should have been running the doubles I wasn't able to get higher up in the event and ended up fourth with Kevin Langaree getting closer to me in the overall rankings.<br/>The setting for the competition was really interesting and the people there were brilliant. The only thing I had trouble getting to grips with was the food! Next time I'll take a pack of piadina! <p>Most of you reading this will probably already know that after a tough final event in New Caledonia where I came fifth, I still had enough points to keep the third place that I'd been defending for so long. The feeling is great and I still haven't come down yet! <p>I was pretty happy with my performance in the singles elimination, but I wish I'd been able to find a little bit more against Marc Jacobs - I know I can beat him, but it just wasn't to be on the day. I really should have done better in the doubles too, but congratulations to Cristophe Tack who beat me into fifth place and had a super day!<br/>Of course congratulations to Youri Zoon and Alex Pastor and thanks for making it such an exciting final!</p>

I usually hang around Uruau which is quite near Fortaleza – the conditions are great for both training and fun sessions with great winds and a lagoon. And of course there’s a great group of kitesurfers here to keep me company throughout the day.<br/> <br/>September was also a great month, as I spent three weeks in Hawaii working with the Cabrinha team on product development, which is a really interesting part of my work. Fitness is obviously an important part of any athlete’s training, but so is the ability to get the very most out of the equipment that you have and improve that equipment to get ever closer to perfection.<br/> <br/>As you know the last competition saw me finish third in Fuerteventura and I really want to improve on that result in the final two events in Cina and New Caledonia. The Cup takes its name from the circle latitude that delineates the international borders between Canada and the USA and has fast become the annual North American grudge match. Although the first game played for the cup was in 1999, it would take 11 years before the 49th Parallel Cup introduced a women’s competition in 2010. <br/><br/> The inaugural women’s 49th Parallel Cup in Toronto saw two Montreal Angels represent Quebec in national colours. Building on that success the following year, three Angels travelled to Australia to participate in the first ever women’s International Cup. Angel Aimee Legault was bestowed with the honour of captaining Team Canada and was eventually named to the World team for her standout efforts during the tournament.<br/><br/> The Angels are proud to announce that Lindsay Belzie, Mirabel Eboka, Tara Cools-Lartigue, Aimee Legault, Kelsey Martin and Margo Legault have all been chosen to represent Canada in Dublin, Ohio. These players will be accompanied by Angels head coach Ronan Shaughnessy who has been selected as one of Team Canada’s assistant coaches. If there were spoilers and big plastic chrome rims made for energy drinks Hype MFP would be the ones sporting the bling. If I was ever caught racing a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII through the streets of Tokyo, this is the drink I would want to have in my custom cup holder. Everything about this drink screams speed. One thing I was not quite able to figure out is the MFP part of the name.  Mind you, I am not very good at acronyms - which probably explains why I hate txtspeak oh so very much.  Either take the 3 seconds to actually write the damn thing out or dont bother saying it at all.  I am not saying that I am not full of grammatical errors and mistakes, but at least all of those are unintentional.</p>
