Hype Energy Denmark has just signed up one of the nation's most talented Kitesurfers, 21-year-old Jakob Rein. Jacob says, "Kitesurfing is all about speed, high altitudes and daredevil tricks, perhaps the closest we get to extreme sports in Denmark."

The first kites were sold in Denmark back in 1999 and ever since it has been the nation's fastest growing sport. In recent years, Jacob has visited Tarifa in southern Spain, Brazil and South Africa in search of bigger challenges and warmer climates.

Hype energy drink hypes the Sri Lankan market

Hype Energy was one of the first energy drinks to hit the market way back in 1994.

Originally launched by Hard Rock Café founder Barry Fox, Hype Energy became heavily involved in motor-sport by first sponsoring the Arrows Formula One team and subsequently Benetton F1, Williams F1, a NASCAR outfit and several motorbike teams.

Associated with the Formula one party lifestyle and with a strong presence in the paddock, Hype Energy commuted huge funds to sponsorship in order to achieve global recognition and establish worldwide distribution.

In 1997, former Formula One racing driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, Bertrand Gachot, signed a distribution agreement with Hype Energy in order to introduce the product to France. Gachot was one of a handful of distributors who remained seriously committed to the brand and in the 1998 he approached the Swiss licensor to buy the company holding the Hype Energy trademarks.

In May 2000, after two years of negotiation, Gachot came to an agreement and restructured the company. Until 2000 Hype Energy had four products in its portfolio: Hype MFP with a strawberry and cranberry flavor, Hype Energy Morning Rush with a citrus flavor, Hype Passion Attack with passion fruit and Hype Night Boost with peach.

In May 2000, the company launched a new version of Hype Energy into selected markets. The culmination of 18 months of development, Hype Energy now used fresh fruit juice, contained 10 vitamins and had no artificial colors or preservatives, as it was pasteurised. The improved Hype Energy product gave the company a substantial boost.

It was first launched in France and the Persian Gulf, then the USA and Canada, and by 2001 it had achieved significant global growth. Today, the Hype energy drink range comprises Hype Energy, Hype Energy MFP, the low-calorie Hype Energy Enlite, and, the newest flavor, Hype Energy Organic.

The brand is now available in more than 40 countries across the globe from the USA, Canada, Honduras and Panama to Africa and the Middle East. Hype Energy is manufactured in the USA, Canada and the Netherlands, and has marketing headquarters in Europe and Dubai.

The opportunity of tasting HYPE is currently available with The United Holdings Services (Pvt) Limited. It is placed in the super market network of Arpico and Laugfs. The youth of Sri Lanka is having a go with HYPE in most of the hotels, clubs, pool parlors and gymnasiums.

GP3 Series is back! It kicked of with pre-season testing in Barcelona last month followed by the final two day test at Silverstone last week.

Hype sponsored, Koiranen GP team were welcomed by the GP3 Series as a new addition this year . GP3 said "The Finnish outfit have proven pedigree amongst others as 2011 Team Champions in Formula Renault 2.0."

The opening round of the 2013 season begins at the Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona on 10-12 May.

Hype Energy Sri Lanka Breaks Race Record at Mahagastota!

The Sir Lankan Hype Energy motorsport team set a new record time on 7th April at the 2nd oldest Speed Hill Climb in the world, in Mahagastota. Driver Darin set a new record time of 34.34s beating the course record of 35.57s set 9 years ago by Mr Rohan De Silva in a Formula Ford. The Hype Energy Subaru is the only car to ever beat the Formulas.

This is not the only race the Sri Lankan Hype Energy team have competed in. In Feb 2013 they took part in another Hill climb in Matara and were placed second overall.

At the 2012 Night Race Hype took pole position and held the lead until the last lap after a small collision put them out of the race.

For the 2013 Colombo Night race Hype race team driver Darin was the only Sri Lankan driver chosen to drive in the international event. They will be taking part in the Hype Nissan GTR against famous drivers who will be driving Porsche and Lamborghini cars.

"What a debut", "superb" just a few of the words from the GP3 Series about newcomers Koiranen GP (sponsored by Hype Energy Drinks) after teamates Aaro Vainio and Kevin Korjus came first and second, respectively, in their maiden race weekend in Barcelona.

Saturday’s results allowed Kevin Korjus to start from Pole whilst Aaro Vainio started from the second row grid.

Straight from the green light, Aaro Vainio took a fantastic start, surprising Kevin Korjus and taking the lead from the first corner. Despite Korjus signing the best lap in 1:37.669, he could not catch Aaro Vainio. The race ended as a one-two victory for Koiranen GP.

Their teamate Patrick Kujala finished P16 after starting P25, good pace and good improvement for the young rookie who was unfortunate on Race 1 having suffered engine problems forcing him to retire.

Koiranen GP is now leading the Team’s championship with 43 points. Next Stop, Hungaroring for testing on 5-6 June , before heading to Round 2 in Valencia on 15-16 June.
